Privacy Policy

The short version: funke helps couples plan date nights. To do that, we collect your name, location, and preferences. We use them only to generate personalized date ideas. We don't sell your data, use it for ads, or share it with third parties beyond what's needed to run the app.

1. Who we are

2. What we collect

We collect only what's needed to generate personalized date ideas for you and your partner.

Name	To personalize date suggestions ("Why this fits Jordan and Chris")
Email address	For account authentication via Apple Sign-In or Google Sign-In
City / location	To suggest real local venues and events near you
Preferences	Budget, interests, dietary restrictions, relationship details — used to tailor date ideas
Date history & feedback	Ratings and tags from past dates help us improve future suggestions
Usage data	Anonymous analytics (e.g. which features you use) to improve the app

We do not collect precise GPS location, payment information, or any sensitive personal data.

3. How we use your data

Generate date ideas — your preferences and location are sent to our AI system to create personalized suggestions
Couple sync — your preferences are shared with your linked partner within the app
Push notifications — date reminders you schedule (only if you enable them)
App improvement — anonymous usage analytics help us understand what's working

We do not use your data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or use it for any purpose beyond running funke.

4. Third-party services

funke uses the following services to operate. Each has its own privacy policy.

Supabase — stores your account data and preferences (supabase.com/privacy)
Anthropic (Claude AI) — generates date ideas from your preferences (anthropic.com/privacy)
Google Places API — provides real venue names and addresses for your city
Ticketmaster Discovery API — provides local event listings
Mixpanel — anonymous usage analytics (mixpanel.com/privacy)
Apple / Google — authentication only (Sign in with Apple / Google Sign-In)
Expo (Notifications) — push notification delivery

5. Data storage & security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase servers. Access is protected by row-level security — you can only read your own data. Your preferences are never accessible to other users outside your linked couple.

We use HTTPS for all data transmission. API keys and secrets are never exposed to the client app.

6. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all your data — including your profile, preferences, saved dates, and feedback — is permanently deleted within 30 days.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

Access your data — contact us and we'll provide a copy
Correct your data — update it anytime in the Settings screen
Delete your data — use "Delete Account" in Settings, or contact us
Opt out of analytics — contact us to disable Mixpanel tracking for your account

8. Children's privacy

funke is intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify you via the app or email before the changes take effect. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
