Privacy Policy

The short version: funke helps couples plan date nights. To do that, we collect your name, location, and preferences. We use them only to generate personalized date ideas. We don't sell your data, use it for ads, or share it with third parties beyond what's needed to run the app.

1. Who we are

2. What we collect

We collect only what's needed to generate personalized date ideas for you and your partner.

We do not collect precise GPS location, payment information, or any sensitive personal data.

3. How we use your data

Generate date ideas — your preferences and location are sent to our AI system to create personalized suggestions
Couple sync — your preferences are shared with your linked partner within the app
Push notifications — date reminders you schedule (only if you enable them)
App improvement — usage analytics help us understand what's working

We do not use your data for advertising, sell it to third parties, or use it for any purpose beyond running funke.

4. Third-party services

funke uses the following services to operate. Each has its own privacy policy.

Supabase — stores your account data and preferences (supabase.com/privacy)
Anthropic (Claude AI) — generates date ideas from your preferences (anthropic.com/privacy)
Google Places API — provides real venue names and addresses for your city
Ticketmaster Discovery API — provides local event listings
Viator (TripAdvisor) — bookable local experiences (tours, cooking classes, activities)
Mixpanel — in-app usage analytics (mixpanel.com/privacy)
Google Analytics 4 — website analytics, including page views, scroll depth, and App Store link clicks (policies.google.com/privacy). Google may use this data in accordance with their own privacy policy.
Omnisend — delivers our email newsletter to people who opt in on this website, and stores those subscribers' email addresses and consent records (omnisend.com/privacy-policy)
Apple / Google — authentication only (Sign in with Apple / Google Sign-In)
Expo (Notifications) — push notification delivery

If you enter your email address in the signup form on this website, we add it to our newsletter list, which is hosted by Omnisend. This is entirely optional and completely separate from your funke account — subscribing does not create an account, and having an account does not subscribe you. We do not currently collect email addresses for the newsletter inside the app.

When you subscribe, we store:

Your email address
A consent timestamp — the date and time you subscribed, recorded on our server
The page and form you subscribed from (for example, the homepage or a city page)

We record the consent timestamp because email law in the US and EU requires us to be able to show when and how you opted in. We use the list only to send the funke newsletter. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with advertisers.

Unsubscribing: every newsletter we send includes an unsubscribe link in the footer, alongside our physical mailing address, as required by the US CAN-SPAM Act. Unsubscribing takes effect immediately and removes you from all future sends. You can also email us at admin@wynwoodtechnologies.com and we'll remove you by hand. Unsubscribing from the newsletter does not affect your funke account.

5. Affiliate partners

funke partners with select third-party booking and ticketing services so the date ideas we generate are actionable. When you tap a "Book" or "Get Tickets" link in the app and complete a purchase, funke may earn a small commission from the partner at no additional cost to you. We choose ideas based on fit (your preferences, budget, and location) and never based on which partner pays the highest commission.

Current affiliate partners

Viator (operated by TripAdvisor, LLC)

What it covers: Bookable experiences such as tours, cooking classes, food tours, museum tickets, day trips, and curated activities.
How it appears in the app: Some date ideas include a "Book this experience" link on the date detail screen. Tapping the link opens a Viator product page in your device's browser.
Affiliate program: When you complete a booking on Viator within 30 days of tapping the link, funke may earn a percentage commission from Viator.

Ticketmaster (operated by Ticketmaster Entertainment, LLC)

What it covers: Tickets for live concerts, theater performances, sporting events, and other ticketed entertainment.
How it appears in the app: Some date ideas include a "Get Tickets" link on the date detail screen. Tapping the link opens a Ticketmaster event page in your device's browser.
Affiliate program: When you purchase tickets on Ticketmaster after tapping the link, funke may earn a commission from Ticketmaster.

What we share with affiliate partners

When funke fetches experience or event data for your area, we share with these partners:

Your city (for example, "Alexandria, Virginia")
Your selected budget tier (for example, budget, moderate, or premium)

We do not share:

Your name, email address, or any account identifier
Your precise location (we share city only, never GPS coordinates)
Your interests, preferences, dietary restrictions, or relationship details
Your past date history or feedback
Any data that would identify you as an individual

What partners may collect when you visit their sites

When you tap an affiliate link and visit a partner's site, that partner may collect their own analytics about your visit (such as the fact that you arrived from funke, your IP address, and standard browser headers). The partner's own privacy policy governs how they handle that data. See Viator's privacy policy and Ticketmaster's privacy policy.

Disclosure compliance

This disclosure is provided in keeping with FTC guidance on affiliate relationships. Commission rates and program terms may change over time; this section will be updated when any partner is added, removed, or replaced.

6. Data storage & security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase servers. Access is protected by row-level security — you can only read your own data. Your preferences are never accessible to other users outside your linked couple.

We use HTTPS for all data transmission. API keys and secrets are never exposed to the client app.

7. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all your data — including your profile, preferences, saved dates, and feedback — is permanently deleted within 30 days.

Anonymized content: Date ideas generated in the app may be retained indefinitely in an anonymized form for publication on our website. These records contain no name, email address, account identifier, or precise location, and cannot be linked back to you. Because they are no longer personal data, they are not removed when an account is deleted.

8. Your rights

You have the right to:

Access your data — contact us and we'll provide a copy
Correct your data — update it anytime in the Settings screen
Delete your data — use "Delete Account" in Settings, or contact us
Opt out of analytics — contact us to disable Mixpanel tracking for your account; for website analytics, install Google's GA opt-out browser add-on or enable your browser's Do Not Track setting

9. Children's privacy

funke is intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify you via the app or email before the changes take effect. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version.
